The mantis shrimp’s club-like forelimbs have been the inspiration behind these new dental crowns. Small but mighty, the shrimp are able to whip out their clubs and smash into their prey at 23 metres per second, and with the strength of a bullet from a rifle. Despite this impact, their clubs do not come away with any damage.
