Our experienced games lecturers are prepared to mentor and support you as you cultivate the technical expertise and creative abilities essential in this rapidly expanding field.
If you're passionate about applying your skills in mathematics and physics to interactive entertainment then our Games Programming degree emphasises the technical intricacies of game development across PC, mobile, and virtual reality platforms. We're dedicated to equipping you with specialised skills, particularly in C++ programming, to thrive in this exhilarating and evolving industry.
The University of Bolton’s MA in Games Development offers you the chance to grow your skills and confidence in all these areas, gaining experience as a developer, and graduating with at least one credit on a published game to your name.
During your final year, you’ll work with students from our other games courses to produce a complete game demo that will be available for industry employers to view at the end-of-year degree show.
Our courses cover both 2D and 3D game environments, concepts and mechanics for traditional gaming (PC and console), mobile gaming (cloud, social and casual), and virtual reality gaming, along with game play analysis and testing.
Our dedicated games tutors have a vast range of industry experience and an extensive network of contacts in the games industry. Members of our team have worked in AAA studios, run their own studios, authored books and are actively conducting research.
