University of Bolton, why we are the right choice
Location - Bolton, Greater Manchester
For over 25 years, students at locations across the UK and beyond have been finding out how easy it is to access the University of Bolton’s prestigious qualifications at a location near to them, studying at one of our carefully selected partner institutions.
Our dedicated Off Campus teams are specialists in partnership working and in maintaining strong links between our partners and the University’s academic staff, meaning that students can be confident of receiving an equivalent, high-quality education whether studying on or off campus.
Our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) may provide you with answers to any questions you have. Initial enquiries should be directed to the partner at which you wish to study, but please remember that we are always very happy to hear from prospective students if you need further help.
All of the University's approved partnerships are listed on this website. If the partnership you are enquiring about is not listed, please contact us via the contact form.
We are required to ensure that the degree you would obtain studying at a partner is exactly the same in content and standard wherever your location of study. Staff at our partner centres work tirelessly with us to ensure the quality and standard of your learning.
Yes, you will receive a certificate in the same way as all University of Bolton students irrespective of your location of study. You will also receive a transcript (which is a detailed record of the modules (courses/papers) you have studied, and your marks. On the transcript, your location of study will be recorded.
That depends on the Partnership. It is best to enquire directly with the partner and they will guide you as to the process.
Yes, you will receive a full induction, including information about the University. During the induction you will also be given information on which of the University's online resources (such as library etc) are rlevant to your programme, and how to use them.
The syllabus you study is identical. But your individual lecturers are free to design and deliver their own material. We work closely with partners and partner staff to ensure that the "Learning Outcomes" (in other words what you will be able to 'do' as a result of your learning) is identical, irrespective of where you study.
That depends on the partner and the programme. It is best to enquire directly with the partner who will be pleased to guide you.
The assessments will be in the same format (in other words if the module/course has an exam and coursework on campus in Bolton then it will have an exam and coursework when you study at our partner. However, the exact brief/exam questions may vary). Both will have been created according to the same standards and checking procedure.
Yes, all UK universities treat student feedback extremely seriously. At Bolton, we pride ourselves as putting the student at the heart of what we do. And this applies equally if you are studying at one of our partner centres. You will have the chance to become a Student Representative, and to attend/give your feedback at Staff Student Liaison Committees. Student feedback is always taken into account when planning delivery.
Yes, you will either have a local ceremony or be invited to the Bolton Ceremony. In some cases, you have the opportunity to do both!
