From initial nurse training this professional has never stood still. Gaining experience within the NHS of medical, surgical and community nursing has provided the opportunity to gain a vast wealth of experience. Alongside practice experience lifelong learning has created excitement to not only became a lecturer but to instill positivity in this experience.
Making a difference to new staff and students is exciting to help all staff to deliver the best quality of care/training especially with the next generation of students. This is key to this professionals’ agenda within this proactive establishment of high-quality teaching.
Currently as a Professional Doctorate student with a keen interest in the transition from Nurse to Lecturer and the impacts of transition have meant that this practitioner has remained concurrent with professional pedagogies. Student and professional development have remained a key focus for this professional within the confines of role.
Research Interests and Research Subject Specialisms:
Research specialisms include Human factors in the relationship to high quality nursing, gender issues in nursing, community care, advanced policy and care, ethics and professionalism alongside teamwork and staff development.
Teaching specialisms;
Nursing in regards to pre-registration student training. Moving and handling, community care, policy, ethics and professionalism, leadership amongst the full programme of study. Additional skills include previous training of MCHB students, Physician Associate staff, international nursing students and BLS training
