University of Bolton, why we are the right choice
Location - Bolton, Greater Manchester
I completed a PhD at the University of Manchester between 1993 to 1997. My research focused on the developmental aspects of episodic memory from a neuropsychological perspective and I was an active member of various national neuropsychological and cognitive groups. During this time, I also completed a PgDip in Clinical and Experimental Neuropsychology. After graduation, I worked in the pharmaceutical industry, developing cognitive tests for assessments on drug trials. I returned to academic life in 2009 and have been teaching at the University of Bolton to the present day.
I teach on a variety of modules at the undergraduate and postgraduate level including biopsychology, social neuroscience and research methods. I am currently supervising three PhD students. I have two research projects that are currently under development. The Early Detection of Alzheimers Disease using EEG Methodology, has been supported with a Jenkinson's award and I have developed collaborations with a large ongoing dementia study, co-ordinated by Health Innovation, Manchester. The second project, Social Cognition and Traumatic Brain Injury, is in collaboration with Dr Gaber, an NHS consultant in rehabilitation medicine.
