University of Bolton, why we are the right choice
Location - Bolton, Greater Manchester
Gina began her NHS career in 2015 after qualifying as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP). She worked for six years as an Anaesthetic & Post-Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU) practitioner in a cardiothoracic hospital. During this time, Gina took on an educational role within the theatre department supporting the development of students. During this time, Gina gained a PGCert in Teaching and Learning in Clinical Practice.
Keen to develop a career in higher education, Gina joined the University of Bolton in 2021 as the Work-Based Apprenticeship Trainer (WBAT) for the ODP programme, and in 2022 become a Lecturer in Operating Department Practice.
Now a Senior Lecturer and joint-Programme Lead for the BSc Operating Department Practice programme (inc. Degree Apprenticeship route), Gina is in the process of completing a Master's degree in education and is keen to pursue further academic development and research in the field of professional education and training.
