Our main campus is only a 10-minute walk from Bolton town centre.

Orlando Village is the preferred and only Halls of Residence recommended by the University of Bolton. The facility provides 381 single study, self-catering bedrooms and are popular with international students. It is a 10-minute walk away from our campus, close to both bus and rail links. Our Students' Union Office can advise you of how to search for private accommodation and what to look for when entering into a contract with a private landlord. Organising private accommodation would mean contacting the landlord of the property to make arrangements. The University of Bolton is not only a great place for students who want to have a positive learning experience, but also those who like to participate in a variety of sports. The campus hosts the £31 million sports complex, Bolton One, which houses a 25m swimming pool, 15m tall climbing wall and newly refurbished gym. Whether you wish to play sport competitively, or just to keep fit, there are many free activities at the University of Bolton. The University caters to all major religions, and we have our own Chaplaincy on-campus. There is also a quiet room, prayer room and resource area. There are many places of worship close by including: churches; mosques and temples.

The International Society at the University of Bolton aims to bring Bolton's international students and interested UK students together in a social and recreational environment. It's a great way to make new friends and see more of the North of England and the rest of the UK.

The weather in Bolton is constantly changing!

From June to August, it can be sunny and warm (25º C/77º F). However, from September through to May, you should be prepared for rain (not every day, of course!), but make sure you have an umbrella.

Winter can be quite cold (0º C/32º F). You'll need warm clothes like jumpers, jackets, coat, hat, scarf and gloves. Bolton winters can get cold, and you should be prepared with the right clothes; fleece/jumper. A waterproof jacket or raincoat is essential for the days when there is rain.

Travel

The town's train station is just a 10-minute walk from the University. It's a 20-minute train journey to Manchester stations and only 40 minutes to Manchester International Airport.

Bolton has excellent travel links. There are frequent buses to the heart of Manchester, Salford and MediaCity and the Trafford Centre Shopping Mall.

Bolton is just over 10 miles away from Manchester and is part of the county of Greater Manchester.

A train to London will take around 2.5 hours
