University helps Bolton Hospice raise money with festive tree fundraiser

The University once again supported Bolton Hospice’s fund-raising Christmas tree collection campaign this year.

We donated a ‘man and a van’ to help pick up more than 50 of the 500 real trees that were collected from Bolton addresses this week.

The festive trees were then shredded and used as food for the animals at Poppywood Alpacas, in Horwich.

Every tree owner made a donation to Bolton Hospice, raising thousands of pounds in total.

The initiative also saved the trees from going to landfill, generated chippings for local green spaces and ultimately helped the hospice to provide the best care for families who are facing life-limiting illnesses.
